Dr. Castro joined Sunflower Neonatology in February of 2011. She attended medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and then completed a Pediatric Residency at Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Castro continued her advanced training with a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Prior to joining Sunflower, Dr. Castro was on Staff in Neonatology and Clinical Pharmacology at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City. Dr. Castro is Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Castro enjoys reading Sci-Fi novels, birdwatching, spending time with her husband, her two sons, and her fur baby German Shepherd dog.
